- Prepare 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
- Make ready 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Get 1 tsp coriander powder
- Get 1/4 tsp whole spice powder
- Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Prepare Salt to taste

Steps to make Fish koftay:
- Wash fish nicely
- Keep fish pieces in steamer or in a strainer and keep it over boiling water. Cover lid and let it steam cooked for 15-20 minutes.
- Take out fish pieces in a bowl and remove skin and bones. Keep a side
- Take a chopper and add onion slices into it. Chopped finely
- Add green chillies and chopped again
- Add fresh coriander and chopped again.
- Now add this onion mixture into steamed fish.
- Add all dry spices for kofta and mix well to make firm smooth ball.
- At this stage add corn flour if needed. Usually if fish is dry than it is needed to bind otherwise not needed
- Make balls and shallow fry them and keep a side
- In the same oil add sliced onion and golden fry them. Take out and blend with yogurt and keep a side
- Now take a shallow pan add oil and heat it
- Add ginger garlic paste and sautay till light brown
- Now add all dry spices and mix for a few seconds
- Now add yogurt mixture and cook till all the spices combine together and masala release oil
- At this stage add fried fish balls and mix for few minutes
- Add water and let balls cook into gravy for 10-15 minutes after covering lid on low flame
- Dish out when desired consistency achieved and serve with Nan. Decorate with fresh coriander
